The Honest Co.

This morning I had the CUTEST package arrive on my doorstep fresh from The Honest Co. filled with a selection of trial sized items from their baby and personal care items, which you can order online at their store.

In the trial package were 7 diapers, each with pretty little patterns, except for the one that was plain, 10 wipes, hand soap, lotion, shampoo/body wash, healing cream and laundry detergent.

The items are part of a FREE TRIAL that they are currently offering on their website - you just pay shipping, which is around $5, but BE CAREFUL! If you do not want a subscription with this company, you MUST cancel your account before they auto-renew your subscription and take almost $80+ from your account for the full size delivery of either diapers, personal care or both, depending on which you chose at sign up. Cancelling your subscription is VERY quick and easy and the company employees are extremely friendly and happy to help! There was little wait time and I was very impressed with the way they handled my inquiries and cancelled my account without any further question.

Now, as for the items themselves, I am impressed with the packaging, and the diapers are extremely pretty. They were a little thicker than the regular diapers I'd buy but that didn't seem to put my daughter off one little bit!

We started the afternoon off with a pink, starry diaper and there were no complaints. The wipes were a little on the thin side but they were durable and held up to the task of a crazy diaper explosion, which I have to admit, I wasn't sure they would, but I was proven wrong!

We changed her into the ice cream print diaper later on in the afternoon and, again, there were no problems. She was free of any diaper rash and didn't appear to mind having another one on, which is great! The diaper looked as though it could be worn on its own, and was very eye-catching, which isn't really important in a diaper, but it is certainly a bonus!

Other than the thickness of the diaper I have to say I was overall pleased with my experience with these on the first couple of tries and will continue to use them until all of them are gone.

We did have a chance to try out the body lotion (on both myself and my daughter) this evening and it is very light on the skin, absorbs well without that greasy feeling and it has a very tiny scent that you might associate with baby products but nothing overpowering!

The hand wash is also very light and useable but it doesn't feel quite as luxurious on the skin as my regular brand of choice.

We have not yet had the chance to try the laundry detergent, the healing balm or the shampoo, but I will definitely give them all a try sometime over the next week!

Over all, I don't really have anything negative to say about The Honest Co. except perhaps that the prices are a little higher than I can justify spending out on diapers or personal care.

Unfortunately, with coupons and offers in many stores these days it can be a lot cheaper to buy diapers in store through other online stores that don't quite put as much effort into their products, but which DO do the job just as well but at a very small fraction of the price.

I personally respect the ethics of The Honest Co. and have a place in my heart for their diapers but that just isn't enough to justify keeping a subscription or spending so much on diapers. I would love to see a cheaper, more affordable option in the future, which would certainly make me re-consider the diaper subscription but I would most probably not sign up for the personal care items as the cost is just not (again) justifiable when there are so many good deals and steals in store right now to cover my family's needs at a fraction of the cost, even though the idea behind the products themselves is one that I can admire.

All in all, if you have the money to spare, these items will make a great addition to your home for your child and yourself, with the personal care items, and I would definitely give them a try if you get the opportunity to do so. Remember, they have a free trial on their site, but you MUST pay shipping/handling. If you then decide to keep your subscription you will be charged the full amount a week after your diaper trial has arrived and your subscription will automatically renew. If you then decide that you do not want the order after all, you may ship them back for a full refund, but you will be charged a small restocking fee (under $7) for the privilege.

I would love to know if you signed up for this trial and what your opinions of these diapers/personal care items are and how they compare to others currently in your home - and, lastly, if you'll be signing on for the full months supply! Were you THAT impressed that you just can't say no, or were you THAT disappointed that it just is not for you?

Whatever you decide, let us know!!

Happy testing, readers!

***I was not compensated for this review and am in no way associated with the company. I just signed up for a free trial of the product and am expressing my own honest and thoughtful views based on that free trial pack, which anyone can sign up for, without need for special treatment. Thank you!
