Here comes the snow!

We have snow and it is very pretty and glistening a lot! It is only an inch or two but that is a nice dusting if you ask me - plus, it is Friday so none of us have to go anywhere tomorrow! Just sit in, feet up and watch it out of the window! Nice!

Shiver Me Timbers!

Being English I should hope to be able to put on a smile and hop, skip and jump through the cold and wintry wet months but, if truth be told, even I don't like the cold too much!

I can take the rain when its warm but the cold, windy, brisk air that makes you feel as though your insides are about to freeze over and your toes are about to drop off is not my idea of a fun outing!!

I realized last night while scurrying to the car from the dentist that I have officially had enough of winter and I am more than ready to sleep through to spring! I would be more than happy to hibernate right through until the blossom starts to appear if anyone would like to arrange that for me!!

For now I suppose i'll just break out the thick socks, thermals, gloves, hats, scarves and winter coats and remember "it could be worse!" I could be somewhere like Fargo right now, which is just FREEZING!!

Come on Spring, I know you're out there somewhere!!

Beauty Box Five January Box Review!

I just received my first Beauty Box Five, which is a small subscription box, which you can have delivered to your door for just $12 per month, $30 per quarter or $100 per year, which is a whopping $44 a year saving over the monthly price!

In the box you will receive 4 to 5 samples of products per month, which allows you to see, test and play around with products from companies that perhaps you might not have picked yourselves and to try a little something new.

Beauty Box Five arrives at your door in this little green box containing a little cute drawstring bag with several goodies in! This month, January, I received in that bag: Blum Naturals Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues (50 sheets), OFRA 3D Loose Shadow in Diamond Glitz (4g), Bodyography Foundation Primer, Clear (0.53 oz), Blinc Mascara (Test Size), City Lips in NUDE York, Gloss (1.5ml).

My first thoughts on the box was that at least this month it was 5 items and not 4, but I must admit that I was a little disappointed at the size of the samples after reviewing a few other similar subscription boxes! I then realized that actually this box is a fraction of the cost of some of its competitors and for the price you do get a fair amount and certainly your money's worth.

The Blum Naturals Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues were certainly interesting and I wouldn't have picked them up myself if I had seen them in a store and so they were something new to try! I thought that they worked well but they felt a little strange to me and I don't think I would really choose those over a regular tissue or baby wipe, but they are natural and they do the job they are intended for - they're just not for me!

The OFRA 3D Loose Shadow on the other hand was by far my favorite item in this bag! It is bold and daring and really gives your eye a pop of color that makes you stand out from the crowd! I have never tried this brand before and I am impressed! I love it! This Diamond Glitz is like a silver and gold two or three toned shimmer and I couldn't get enough!

The Bodyography Foundation Primer worked well and I would consider looking into a purchase of a full size, but I would need to use it a few more times first to make sure I LOVE it and not that I just LIKE it! I rarely find the right shade in foundation and never seem to find the right combination with primer and so to find one that works for me before adding foundation is fabulous! I would have loved to have seen a bigger tube in this box, but the one I got was great!

The Blinc Mascara surprised me a little! I have never seen quite a small sample of mascara but it was enough to give it a try and reuse once or twice! It went on smooth and it didn't clump and I liked the consistency of it! I was not disappointed!

Lastly, the City Lips NUDE York Gloss was a little sticky but a very nice shade and looked fabulous! I like the simple nudes and this one gave my lips that pop of shine without too much of the crazy color a lipstick might!!

Over all I have to say I do think the price of this box is worth it, but I have only one month to go on and so I would like to reserve judgement until I have tried another box in the future! I think this could be a nice little treat for you every month if you have the money spare and wish to try out a few nice little items you might never otherwise have thought to go looking for!

If you are interested in finding out more about Beauty Box Five then you can find them at:, where you will see subscription prices and details about what you might want to expect in your boxes!

I would love to hear your views on this particular box, especially if you have tried it too on a previous month!! What did you think!?

Please get chatting, and enjoy!!

Disclaimer: I received a Beauty Box Five box for the month of January, 2013, free in order to write this review. I have given my 100% honest opinion, which has not been affected in any way by the provision of the box and I have not been otherwise compensated. Thank you!

Soda Sparkle Review!

I recently had the chance to sample a SodaSparkle™ Home Soda Maker SUPER Starter Kit, which allows you to turn crisp cold water into crisp cold, sparkling soda with the twist of a cap and a little injection of CO2!

With individual soda chargers you just pop in, twist and fizz - making soda couldn't be simpler or quicker! Each charger is a one time use and recyclable so a lot of waste can be saved over buying soda at the store AND the SodaSparkle™ itself is small enough to put away neatly without taking up a ton of counter space! You can literally have soda in seconds with the SodaSparkle™ and without the waste of bottles and cans!! No more lugging those heavy bottles home and no more waste!

The pack that I received included the following:

  • SodaSparkle™ Machine
  • 1 x 1.3L bottle
  • 1 x 1L bottle (for extra fizz)
  • 5 x CO2 cartridges
  • 15 single serve packs starter kit (3 single serve packs x 5 flavors )

The natural flavors in this pack come in Lychee, Pineapple, Apple, Cola-Lemon and Tonic Water and are pre-measured so that all you have to do is fizz, flavor and pour! It really is that simple! You can use use a different flavor per person, per serving OR a bigger bottle pack, which allows you to flavor the entire bottle in one pop!

The science behind having a smaller bottle alongside the bigger bottle is so that the fizz is more concentrated for a fuller fizz in the smaller bottle and a lighter fizz in the larger bottle! No need to worry about the amount of CO2 here either! Just pop in the same amount, pick a bottle and create your desired fizz!

I have to say that I was skeptical at first that this wasn't going to be "all that and a bag of chips" but actually I really like it! I like the convenience and I like the fact that you can pop it away out of site when it isn't in use! With a small kitchen like mine I do need all of the counter space I can get and so just whipping out the SodaSparkle™ when I needed (or wanted) to use it worked perfectly for us and there was never anything left out on the side!

The flavors were light but refreshing and, while I would like to have seen a few other flavors, I was very satisfied with the ones that were available! The Lychee was my favorite followed a close second by the Apple! The children enjoyed the taste and I felt a lot better about giving them this over cans of sugary soda from the store!

With all the benefits this machine has to offer, they really are nice to have around the house and you can keep a bottle of home-made soda in the fridge to grab any time you fancy a little fizz! The bottles you use are heavy duty and designed to withstand the pressure of the CO2 and carry a long life enabling you to save time, money and space for longer!

The overall consensus in our home is that this machine is light, useful and fun for when you want to add a little sparkle to your water! The only thing that could make it better is more flavors!  For a full list of the current flavors available, and prices you can CLICK HERE! You will also find a starter pack HERE

For more information on the SodaSparkle™ you can visit their website at and follow them on Facebook HERE!

Have you had any experience with the SodaSparkle™? I would love to hear what you think!!

Deluxe Memory Foam Nap Mat from Aquatopia - Review AND Giveaway! Ends 1/31/13

I don't know about you, but I have 3 children and all of them have had different ideas when it comes to whether they should take a nap or not, and where it might be O.K to do so!

My oldest, who is now 16, used to nap wherever he might be at the very second he became tired! We would find him sleeping in his walker, hanging off of the couch or partway down the hallway! My step son, who is now 9 is also able to sleep almost anywhere but he has a habit of sleepwalking there and leaving us with the task of locating him once or twice a month and moving him gently back to his bed!

My daughter, on the other hand, hates to nap and dislikes the process of getting tired, overtired and then just not sleeping all! She will fight sleep to the end and would rather run around and plan and not miss a thing than take 5 minutes out of her very busy day for a nap, which can be extremely exhausting for all of us...that is, until now!
This week we discovered the Deluxe Memory Foam Nap Mat from Aquatopia, which is an adorable mat made up of memory foam and topped with the softest fleece! Attached to the mat is a fleece blanket and the icing on the cake is a soft fleecy pillow!

The mat measures 19x41 inches in size and is perfect for a small child who might need to take a break during the day and a time out for a nap! The mat rolls up for ease and the pillow attaches with a popper closure making this wonderfully convenient for day trips, daycares or everyday at-home use!

My daughter absolutely loves this mat, which has a rather adorable hippo design, which is one of her favorite animals! As soon as she had the chance, she climbed on to the mat and had me cover her up with the soft blanket and popped her head down on the super soft pillow! She tucked herself in snugly with her bear and promptly stayed there for the next hour without fussing or wiggling around! The only word she uttered to me, in fact, was "cozy!" right before she fell asleep! She loves it!

I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed by this mat! It truly gives every little boy or girl a soft, cuddly and cozy experience and allows them to feel snug and safe without having to lie on a cold floor or an uncomfortable carpet!

I have never seen my daughter so enthused about taking a nap before and so I have to give this mat an amazing 10 out of 10 without any hesitation! I can't find a single fault with it and I think she would agree!

Vintage Layton Double Diner Review and Giveaway! Ends Jan 31st 2013!

I received this rather fabulous Vintage Layton Double Diner from the Black Label Collection at this past week and I have to say it is absolutely glorious!

My dog, Roz, who is a medium sized cross breed stands rather tall and proud and a bowl set like this allows for her to feed like a queen AND to stand a couple of comfortable inches off of the ground allowing for a more enjoyable dining experience!

These bowls feature:

  • A stainless steel interior
  • Hygienic, bacteria resistance
  • Dishwasher Safe
  • Lifetime bowl guarantee

The frame is black and elegant and looks pretty in my kitchen area and looks more like decoration than your average plain bowl and it suits my dogs personality down to the ground! The bowls do not slide all over the kitchen floor like her individual bowls did when she got a little zesty with her food and they compliment everything around them with ease!

I love the way these bowls look and I love that they are easy to clean and keep sanitary! I also adore that they come with a lifetime guarantee and that they won't rust, pit or crack! What more could you ask for in a bowl!!

Hiding in Sunshine by John Stuart & Caitlin Stuart

I received the book Hiding in Sunshine by John Stuart and Caitlin Stuart a couple of weeks ago free via Influenster as an additional bonus for their Holiday Vox Box. I was not entirely sure if I would be able to stick with reading it but I have and I have to say I am glad that I did!

Not usually my kind of book, this book can be a real page turner once you get past the first chapter or so, which is a little slow moving and drab to start but a real nail biter as the story continued!

This father and daughter writing duo have really put attention to details in the book, which eventually sucks you in and keeps you wanting more as you're thrilled and thrown into drama with the realization that this could happen to you!

This book looks at some real possibilities in modern society with the overwhelming use of the internet and cyber-run access to just about everything and really does make you think and feel for this family on the run!

Well worth a look and one you shouldn't pass by! I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

You can find the book currently on Amazon HERE - I would love to know what you thinks!

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from Influenster in order to write this review. I was no otherwise compensated and the book provision did not alter my opinion. Thank you!

Rosebud Perfume Co. Lip Salve & Balm Tube Review!

During the colder months I am always going through lip balm like crazy and can never quite get enough of it - my entire family is the same and the children are always pinching mine the moment I buy them!

This week I think I found a nice way to keep my lips soft, without the children pinching each tube, with the help of some scented lip salve from the Rosebud Perfume Company, Inc., who sent me a cute little tin with several of their perfumed salves!

The Salves come in a set of 3 and include; Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm, Smith's Moka Rose Lip Balm and Smith's Rosebud Salve!
The Strawberry was the one I tried out first as I have a weakness for anything even remotely scented with strawberries and this one hits the nail on the head! The scent is not too over powering and it lingers with a sweet finish, while leaving my lips soft and not at all too sticky!

I tried the Moka Rose next and, again, was left with soft lips without the sticky residue and the scent was not at all too overbearing - subtle and sweet!

The Smith's Rosebud Salve was the last on the list and it went on soft and smooth just like the others and left a delicate floral scent behind after. It wasn't overpowering and didn't seem like too much at all - very delicate and womanly. I don't think that the boys in my house would want to take this one from me, but the men in my house certainly appreciate me wearing it!

Overall I am very enthused and impressed by these products, which do exactly what they set out to! As a wonderful bonus they do not test on animals and are cruelty free!

The tin itself makes a nice presentation and gift for any special occasion and leaves you with a gift you will be both proud to give and to receive!

If you would like to know more about this particular product you can find them at the Rosebud Perfume Company's website or on Amazon!

I would love to hear your thoughts on these and opinions if you have used them yourself! Definitely worth checking out!!

Beauty Fix Box Review!

Beauty Fix, by Dermstore is another of the smart subscription boxes currently available on the market, which you can purchase currently for $49.99 per box and for which you get to select up to 8 items from a set list of goodies provided by the company for your delight! Every month the items change and every month you get to pick the ones that you would like to try! The money more than covers the cost of the box and in many cases doubles, triples (or more) the value of the contents inside up to a whopping $400 a month!!

This month I chose the following for my Beauty Fix box:

  • Nick Chavez Caviar Styling Mousse
  • Degree Classic Romance Body Mist
  • Johnathan Frizz Control/High Shine Hair Spray
  • Cattiva Mascara
  • Spongelle Pedi-Buffer
  • Intelligent Beauty Labs Rapid Repair Hair Mask
  • Ava Lip Gloss
  • RAWcolor Beauty Brush W/Blonde Handle

The box also comes with a bonus is the form of a Beauty Fix make-up bag, which makes this a really nice, valuable box and one that I was very impressed with this month! Remember, the products do change every month and you are able to choose the ones you want, which is something that most boxes do not allow you to do, so this is a great perk of this particular box!

My favorite product in this group in the Spongelle Pedi-Buffer, which smells of mandarin and leaves your feet smooth and soft! The lip gloss is a little sticky but I do like the color and the Cattiva Mascara is pretty and sparkly - The hair products are fabulous and high quality and you never can have too much body mist!

I have to admit that I was curious about the cost of the products in the box and so I  did do a little digging around to see how much each of the products might be worth and I can tell you that the hair mask retails for $45 on and so that one product alone is worth the price you pay for the box!

I am thrilled with the box and certainly think it is worth a look! Did you get a Beauty Fix box this month? What did you think?

If you would like to check out more from Beauty Fix and perhaps sign up for your own box, check out their website at and see if anything takes your interest today!

Montagne Jeunesse Product Review & Giveaway!

One of my favorite times of day comes at about 5am in the morning when my husband has left for work and my children are still sleeping! This is the only time of day that I can sit down and take 5 minutes of time for myself - and I do!

Yesterday morning I treated myself to a Strawberry Souffle face mask from Montagne Jeunesse, who were kind enough to send me over several different products to try out from their fabulous range including 5 different masks in Iced Crystal, Hot Chocolate, Apricot, White Chocolate and Strawberry Souffle, which are all wonderful blends of goodness ready to treat your face!

It was very difficult to choose which one to use first but I have always had a weakness for strawberries! Very smooth, very creamy and very aromatic, this mask went on with ease and left my face feeling smooth and soft when washed off! It did not leave any sticky residue and the smell was divine! I can't wait to try out the others!

As well as the masks I also have a healing balm, which is soft on the lips and brings moisture as needed! It was a little thicker than perhaps I am used to but it smells great and did leave my lips very soft! It is easy to keep in your purse and handy on the go or any time you feel a little dry!

I also received some Anti-Wrinkle pads, which you place in the fridge to cool for an hour before applying beneath your eyes! I used some of these this morning along with a pore strip, which was ALSO included in the box of goodies!

The pads sat under my eyes for a little while and did seem to leave the area quite soft and the pore strip left my nose feeling very clean and smooth!

I also received a hair mask but have yet to try it out! I am going to use it the next time I do my hair! I love anything that looks fun and nourishing and you really get that in these products across the board!

I had never used Montagne Jeunesse products before but I had heard great things! I am definitely not at all disappointed and have had nothing but pleasant experiences with all of the above!

Have you tried their products before!? Would you like to?! Well, to find out more about Montagne Jeunesse you can check out their facebook HERE OR their website HERE!

Bath & Beauty from Vitacost!

I recently bought you a post with goodies from Vitacost and introduced you to the concept that they are not just for vitamins!

Well! Today I have even more goodies for you to explore, which you can ALSO purchase on the Vitacost website, which will interest all of you ladies (and gents) interested in a little bath and beauty!

That's right! You can pick up some fabulous beauty products to keep you in check and jazz up your routine - and you can be sure that you are using the best quality product at the same time!

I picked up an assortment of brushes, eye shadow, make-up remover, soap and lip balm! I am going to go over them with you and you can decide if you'd like to see more! I am certainly pleased with all of the items and am happy to present you with my view!

First up is a Soothing Beauty Mask, which as you can see is being worn my my daughter [BEFORE we put it in the fridge], from Earth Therapeutics! The mask uses a beaded gel formula to cool and aid in tension for tired eyes and to reduce puffiness, relax and relieve. It can also be used on the forehead to cool down hot spots and relieve headache. This is a cooling mask and is used by placing in the fridge for 10 minutes or so and then over your eyes - you should never use this mask as a hot mask, ever! It is for cool soothing only and can be a good alternative for non-medicated headache relief - you should always consult a doctor before use though if you have any health or eye problems so that you are reassured that this is the right product for you!

Next up we have our 2 VEGAN brushes from Larenim - one of which is an eyeliner brush and the other a large oval flat concealer brush! The eyeliner brush is fabulous for applying eye-shadow with a little water to the eyelid as a liner for sparkling effects and the oval brush is a great all-round brush and can be used for even application to the face and eyes! The fact that these are vegan allows for less of a guilt trip when applying make-up and a warm feeling that no animals were used for your brushes or bristles! I found both of them quite delightful to use and of a very nice, good, quality!

Another product from Larenim, which I was able to try via Vitacost is a very pretty eye powder/shadow in a great color - 'Crimson Tide'! In the photo on the website it looked very red and I did get very excited! I love a good red and jumped at the chance to give it a try! When it arrived, however, the box showed a pink patch on the top and  immediately my heart sank! HOWEVER! On opening the box, the color of the powder is a LOT darker than the box displays and, in fact, I was very pleased with it! A dusky pinky red, this one applies well and looks fabulous in the crease of your eye and with a pop of bold color on the outer eye! Larenim claims that all of its mineral make up is cruelty free, which is fabulous - it is also free of Parabens and Bismuth Oxychloride, with no gluten and no nano particles, talc or FD&C dyes.

I also have a set of brushes from  Honey Bee Garden's, which are not vegan, but they are pleasant brushes if you do not mind using a non-vegan brush! The set comes with 6 different brushes in a little black pouch ready to pop in your bag or make-up station! They do not seem as good in quality as the Larenim brushes but they do the job that they are intended for. I have used them to apply lip color and eye-shadow so far and they did apply well. The set is a good value for only $10.29 and only time will tell how these brushes hold up with use! I do like the package and they are handy to carry with you - the only thing that could have made them even better is if they were also vegan brushes!

As with the Larenim products, I also picked up an eye shadow from Honey Bee Gardens! This time, the shadow comes in the color of 'Castaway', which is almost like a shimmery sea green with a hint of turquoise and appears as part of a set of their PowderColors Stackable Mineral Color collection, which is vegan and does not contain any dyes, carmine, fragrances, petroleum derivatives, lakes, FD&C colors, bismuth oxychluride, dimethicone or parabens! The color applies well for a pop of color and looks great on its own or with a mix of colors. I actually tried both the 'Crimson Tide' [from Larenim] and the 'Castaway' [from Honey Bee Gardens] together and the results came with a smokey eye and several compliments! The color is true to the color presented on Vitacost and I was not disappointed at all. Very nice!

Next we have some Kiss My Face pure olive oil soap [from Greece], containing no phthalates, fragrances, artificial colors or animal ingredients  The soap is also gluten free, biodegradable and has not been tested on animals! The bar is quite chunky and of substance, which makes it feel good in your hands to grip, presents itself in an olive green color and lathers up quite well with a sponge or a shower puff! I regularly avoid bar soap because it dries my skin but this one did not! It felt soft and more luxurious than I had expected it too and I felt safe using this on my daughter. She loved the lather and there were no complaints! It washed off well and did not leave any residue as sometimes a bar soap might.

Next we have Pure and Natural Makeup Remover from JASON, which has been a long-time contributor to natural, better-for-you products that work without harsh chemicals or animal testing! This little tub contains 75 pads and are fabulous for removing any kind of make-up - even if it is waterproof! They contain a little Aloe Vera, Cucumber and Vitamin E and claim to leave your skin smooth and fresh without the need to rinse, which I have found to be correct! It removed my eyeliner, shadow and lipstick with ease and I have only ever needed to use 1 or 2 pads at a time. They are so convenient and the container is even recyclable! No fuss, no waste! Very nice, thank you, JASON!

Also available at Vitacost, you can find this fabulous tangerine lip balm from Aubrey Organics, which I absolutely love! I can't get enough lip balm in my life and once in a while one or two turn up that really tick all of the boxes - this one is one of those! It applies very smoothly and doesn't feel too sticky or heavy on the lips! The tangerine is light and lasts through the day with a little extra application as needed! It didn't make my lips crumble like some do and it wasn't too greasy! USDA certified organic AND cruelty free, you can't ask for more from a balm!

Overall, Vitacost has certainly done it again! They have provided me with some quality finds and all of these items shipped in the one package for a flat fee of $4.99 or free if you spend over $49!! Every time I visit the site there is something new to discover with 229 new products added just this week! Take a look over at their website and see what goodies you can find - let me know if there is anything up there that you would particularly love to try!

Disclaimer: Vitacost provided me with the items reviewed in this post for free of charge, I just paid the shipping. I have not been otherwise compensated for my thoughts on the products and all of my opinions are 100% honest and may differ from your own! Thank you!

Sweet Fragrance From Yves Rocher!

I recently received a pretty little set of items from Yves Rocher, which contained some of their Candied Mallows collection and an Apple Delight candle!!

I received a  bottle of body lotion, hand lotion, body wash and hand soap as part of the package and so I was able to get a good grasp on the look and feel of the line and was able to carry the scent throughout the day!

Described as having "a burst of sweet Almond, a heart of Mallow and Roses as well as a lingering base of white musk and Tonka Bean" [on the Yves Rocher website], this collection promises a very feminine, sweet and floral experience and is presented in a very womanly pink packaging!

I have to say that first off I was attracted to the product for the packaging alone, because I do like a little drop of girly pink now and then, but I was a tad concerned that the notes in this one might be a little too "young" for the older woman. However, we all know that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover and to keep an open mind and so now, after using each of the products several times, I do feel as though they do indeed do live up to their promise - they are floral and girly and the scent does have hints of rose and perhaps a little musk!

I love Almonds and do get a sweet feel from this scent but the Almonds aren't as forefront as perhaps I would like. I don't feel that any of the other elements are too overpowering either though, although the floral element is certainly evident and it is sweet enough to wear on a daily basis without being too sickly sweet or "young" - this isn't a young girls product, this is one for everybody with a feminine flare!

The hand wash is perfect for every day cleansing - I have mine in my kitchen and grab for it after cleaning or washing dishes or to wash my hands before dinner. It is a nice consistency and blasts a bloom into the air as you wash. Finish your hands off with the hand cream and the scent will linger through the day.

Both the body lotion and hand lotion are easy to apply and not overly greasy - the body lotion is best applied after a shower for maximum absorption and will leave your skin moisturized for a large chunk of your day. If you have overly dry skin then you may want to re-apply but if you love this scent as much as I do, you will not mind having to do that at all!

The Apple Delight candle is a limited edition seasonal candle with warm and delicious tones! It really cozies the mood in any home at this time of year and breathes a vanilla and apple tone into your room! The scent is soft and not at all overpowering and the candle burns for up to 20 hours keeping you in the holiday mood for longer!

If you are interested in any of the products mentioned in this post, or would like to explore the lines further, then head on over to the Yves Rocher Website and pick up a fragrance today!!

Already tried these scents!? Let me know what you think!

Wantable Make-Up Box Subscription! Review!

Right now, as you may be aware, there are many subscription boxes out on the market, which often provide the subscriber with a collection of products at a set cost delivered right to your door! Often, the cost of your products is greater than the cost of the box subscription and often these boxes leave us itching for more! The Wantable box is no exception and certainly seems to live up to its reputation!

Wantable gives you the option to subscribe monthly for just $36 for a set term OR $40 for a one-off box! They have a dual choice of boxes, which allows you to pick between Make-Up or Jewelry every month and I was lucky enough this month to try out one of the Wantable boxes of Make-Up!

I really didn't know quite what to expect from the box but the process was very easy and put me at ease - you simple choose your type of box (Jewelry or Make-Up) and then run through a series of questions to let the company know which kinds of Make-Up you would be happy to receive and in which colors or forms and leave out the ones that you would prefer not to try.

Once you have finished your selections, you hit confirm and wait just a little while for your box to appear! You will be sent a confirmation notification of your shipment and you should be able to see a list of the contents if you just can't hold out until the box arrives for a surprise!

When my first box arrived I opened it up with anticipation and studied the goodies inside! Wantable took my suggestions into consideration when I entered my details and they really did come up with a box to suit my individual tastes and needs, as they promised that they would on their wonderful website!

The total contents of my Wantable box was over $80, which is double the cost (and more!) of the price that you would pay for the box subscription! The contents included:
  • Foiled Nail Polish Hot Like Lava
  • High Def Eye Pencil Brown
  • Lip Pop Gloss Hot in Here
  • Metallic Nail Polish Foil Me Once
  • Mineral Blush Captive Glow
  • Blingtone Eyeshadow Gilt-y
  • Doux Amour Sample
  • Sole Nero Sample
  • Kai Perfume Oil Sample
I have so far tried out everything except the one nail polish (foil me once) and can truly say I am very happy with the products! I was not quite so sure about the gold but actually it accented a pink I had very well and I absolutely love it!

I would never have picked out the gold on my own and this is one of the top reasons why many of these kinds of subscriptions make it all worth while! Getting to try something I would not usually pick is fabulous! The shades fit well with one another and the gold looks wonderful! The eyeliner was very easy to apply too and the lip gloss left a lovely hint of color. The blush works well as an eye shadow as well as a blush and the perfumes smell fabulous! I wish these had been bigger but with the contents being so vast as they were, I really can't grumble!!

I definitely think this box is worth the money you pay and I would love to try the jewelry box in the future! I would love to hear from you if you have tried either! What did you think!?

Get A Little 'Ooh La La' With Votre Vu!

Until this past month I had never heard of Votre Vu, which is a direct sales company with a wonderful range of high end products mostly associated with skin care and cosmetics.

I didn't know quite what to expect from their products and so came to them with an open mind when a little package turned up on my doorstep containing 2 Bébé Duette Moisturizing Lip Balm and Luxe Hand Cream combinations AND a Le Joli Crayon smudge & set soft eyeliner and sharpener!

Retailing at $39.50, The Bébé Duette Moisturizing Lip Balm and Luxe Hand Cream combinations presented me with something very unique that I have never encountered before! The hand cream looks like your average on-the-go hand cream until you realize that the lip balm is actually cleverly attached to the hand cream AND a little mirror!

These absolutely delightful tubes come as a set of 2 and, while one houses a clear lip balm, the other plays host to raspberry! Both are absolutely wonderful and the cream itself has a delicious aroma of 'Tarte D'Amande' - Almond Pie!, which is so sweet and joyful that it is hard  to resist the urge to keep reaching for it! The mirror is a little small for me but it is a very nice touch and the lip balm is best applied with a little brush! You can pop these in your bag and your hands and lips are ready for anything!

Retailing at $23, Le Joli Crayon hosts a soft gel pencil eyeliner one end and a soft sponge at the other! The gel pencil gives you a little working room with your look and takes a little time to dry, allowing you to smudge, feather, bend, flick and blend however you please with this smart duo! To make it even better these pencils are available in both Aubergine and [the color I received] Carbon. It even comes boxed with its own sharpener, which I think is a wonderful addition as you really can never have too many! You may be a little more organized than I am but I do tend to misplace mine quite frequently and so this really finished the package off well for me.

The eyeliner, for me personally, was very smooth and easy to apply and allowed me to get a very close-to-the-lashes look and blended out very well to give it a slight smokey look leaving it very subtle and clean! This is only one of the ways this liner works wonders but it is also very good for dramatic looks and makes Egyptian style eyes with all the flicks and flares very manageable! I personally tried a little tail or two and had no problems at all - and it did not run or bleed out, even on my 30 minute walk in the cold with my eyes watering from the wind! It really did do me proud!

If you would like to know more about either of the mentioned products you will easily locate them at Votre Vu's website, where you will also find a plethora of other enticing products that you might also like to try! I know that I am certainly hooked on these few items and I can't wait to explore some more!

Add A Little Tropical Dream to Your Routine With Calgon!

Earlier this week I had a wonderful little package arrive at my door from Calgon, which contained a  5 piece gift set in the scent of Tropical Dream!

Valued at $15.99, the gift set included:
  • Body Mist: 8 FL OZ (236mL)
  • Body Cream: 8 OZ (226g)
  • Moisturizing Shower Gel & Foam Bath: 4 FL OZ (118mL)
  • Shower Pouf
  • Cosmetic Bag
Having not tried their products before, I had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised!

Tropical Dream is a light, fresh and breezy scent, which can be worn for any occasion and doesn't weigh you down! A little spritz of the mist is all you need for it to linger and delight.

The body pouf is a little small, but actually I like it! It fits nicely in the hand as soup might and once you lather it up with the shower gel you can wash with ease with this cute little pouf! The gel is very foamy on the pouf and would make a delightful bubble bath but I have only used it in the shower thus far! It washes off clean and doesn't leave any kind of sticky residue!

The body cream, which is rich in vitamins A, E and Aloe was a big test for me! I can go through a ton of body and hand creams in a year and my main hope is that they not be greasy  which  this product is definitely not! Mineral oil free, and pH balanced, it works well into the skin following a hot shower leaving behind the fragrance of Tropical Dream at its best when used with the corresponding shower gel before hand! It really did leave my skin soft and I only re-applied a little more later in the day as I felt a little dry with the hot air on in my home. If I had not had it so hot in my apartment I might not have had to re-apply at all.

The cosmetic bag was a lovely added bonus to the pack and is a very nice size, which easily fits a couple of handfuls of regular sized cosmetics! The neutral tone makes this an accessory that can be used around the home or while on your travels and really finishes off this gift set.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the mentioned products for yourself, you can find them at the Calgon store located HERE. There are also many other delightful sounding fragrances that I am personally itching to try such as Coconut Sorbet or Cotton Candy

If you pick any up, or have tried them before, let me know! I'd love to know your thoughts!

Onion Crunch! Adds Bite to Your Burger!

I have to confess that I just ADORE onions! I can eat them raw almost like chomping on an apple - but I don't because that would be crazy and my breath would scare people away! SO! When I heard about Loeb's All Natural Onion Crunch I had to give it a try!!

Made from 100% real onions, Onion Crunch is delicious on just about everything from hamburgers to hot dogs, soups, chicken and mac'n'cheese! They're perfect on just about anything and even as a snack! - My children oddly like them on their own, on the side and so they must take after their mother!

I used some this week on top of my cheesy macaroni and in a crunchy salad! They were also very tasty on my tomato soup, which is one of my daily staples through the winter!

I would happily give these to the children as a topping for anything - they like to shake them out themselves and it makes it fun!

I received 2 big shakers as part of this review and am about 1/2 way through one of them a week later, so they're going to last a little while and jazz up many a meal! I think I may have to try them on top of a green bean casserole  I am getting hungry just thinking about it!

I do not see any down side with Onion Crunch other than a little onion breath, but it is no where near as crazy as if you sat and ate a bunch of raw onions and you're not going to bring tears to your eyes or strange looks from the rest of your family who think you're just lost the plot standing there with an onion in your mouth!

My verdict? GREAT! CRUNCHY! FUN! I can't get enough of them - if you like onions, you'll adore these! Give them a whirl!!

It isn't just for vitamins! - Vitacost!

I am the kind of person who adores a good product at a wonderful price AND a shopping trip that consists entirely of sitting at my computer and browsing online! I also like to buy natural products but I don't want to pay through the roof prices, which is why one of my favorite places to shop online is!

Don't be fooled by the name! Vitacost is a lot more than vitamins alone - from vitamins to alternative health care, gluten free living to baby care and other goodies to keep you going!

Just in the last week I received a big box of products from Vitacost and some of which I would like to talk about with you now...

I received:

Toothpaste, gum and a toothbrush from Vitacare, Maldon's sea salt flakes, 2 packets of 'Super Cookies' from Go Raw, Alpha Hydrox toner, Jadience stress relieving detox patch and a cup of Earnest Eats hot and fit cereal!

The test!

I actually tried the toothpaste first as this is a fluoride free toothpaste, which I had been considering switching to for a very long time! This particular paste has whitening properties too AND the toothbrush that came with this box happens to be made of mostly recycled materials, which makes me feel a lot better about purchasing them in the future!

The feel of the toothbrush was different to what I might normally expect - it was smooth and light and felt nice in my hand. The toothpaste came out easily and smooth and had a speckled effect, which was quite nice! There was a very light minty taste but nothing near as strong as you might get in a regular paste and I liked that - I am not a huge fan of strong mint and so this worked well for me off of the bat! I have now been using both for a number of days now and, while I don't yet see any whitening occurring  I do feel as though my teeth are as clean as they would have been using any other regular paste! I am going to stick with it and see how it goes! The gum is light and fresh too!

The cookies were next - the whole household tried them and they went down very well with most but felt a little bland to others. I thought that the carrot cake ones were fabulous and held a lot of flavor, while the original ones were perfect with a cup of tea! I really like this type of cookie and could munch on them all day and I really wasn't disappointed!

The sea salt was used a few times in cooking this past few days too! I prefer sea salt over regular salt and I was happy to give this a go! I was running low on sea salt and so this came at the perfect time to try! It was easy to pinch with my fingers and simple to squish/crush and sprinkle on the top of any dish or while baking. It has a great flavor and you really do not need much of it to compliment your efforts!

The Earnest Eats cereal was O.K. holding a mildly chocolaty taste and with a crunchy texture it certainly gives you a warm start to the day but it isn't for me. I would have been a little more excited about it if it were a tad sweeter. I have a feeling I may have added too much water, too as it was a little too thin for me! I would like to try another in the future to give it a fair try! The idea and the cup itself are fabulous though and I don't think they've quite seen the last of me yet!

The toner is fabulous and goes on with ease using a cotton ball or two and really gives my face a feeling of clean and fresh-faced goodness! I do adore a good toner and this one certainly hits the spot. I have used it every day since it arrived and I do think that it helps. It does have a strong odor though and you would want to avoid the eye area too much as it can be a little sensitive on the eyes but other than that, a lovely product!

The stress relieving detox patch is the only thing I have yet to try from this box! I just haven't felt the need for it just yet, but I will certainly let you know when I do!

I feel privileged to have been able to sample some of the products that Vitacost has to offer that I might not otherwise have known were there - the products are wonderful and the prices are very affordable too!

If you would like to find out more about Vitacost or any of these items, you can find them by searching the website, which can be found with a click HERE!

I am definitely going to keep on exploring everything that they have to offer and discovering new things to try, which benefit both myself and the earth and at a reasonable price!

If you haven't joined Vitacost yet, you can sign up by clicking HERE! - this is my refer a friend link and you will get $10 off of your first purchase (of $30 or more) when you sign up this way - and I will get $10 off of mine, too!

I hope you have enjoyed visiting with a little slice of the goodness that Vitacost has to offer and I hope you'll check them out for more!

Happy living!!
