Doctor Who, 50th Anniversary Special!

The 50th Anniversary Special of Dr. Who aired this past weekend and I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed with it!

I know it was great to see Billie Piper and David Tennant and I do love Hurt, but the story [to me] felt too predictable and old, even though we've never seen all of these characters interacting with one another quite like this before and so I should have been thrilled.

Something lacked, though. It was almost like they knew what the public wanted and gave them every single cliche they could ever want and over-killed it! How many mentions of "Timey-Whimey" or "Alons-y" do they need to cram into one episode and why keep harping back to the Queen of England! It has been DONE BEFORE!

I, of course, didn't like that Billie Piper and David Tennant had no interaction and I didn't like that the war doctor all of a sudden wasn't a bad guy after all, so apparently now the Dr can do no wrong in the past or present, he always seems to be this eternal do-gooder, which is fine and all, but everyone needs a little darkness in them to even them out and so I didn't really enjoy where that went.

Also, Gallifrey isn't gone, huh? OK. I guess now we see the Dr. isn't the only one of his kind out there necessarily but that, again, seems to take away something fundamental to the Dr. That he was alone.

I can't help but feel like there are a lot of long-lived loose ends being tied up in this episode as well as far too much crowd-pleasing.

Don't get me wrong, though. I did like the episode, but I just felt like it could have been so much more!

I am looking forward to the Christmas special!

Good morning! I hope you all has a restful day yesterday if you had a day off or celebrated for Thanksgiving!

Growing up in England, we didn't have Thanksgiving and so it isn't that big of a holiday for me, even now, but I do go to my mother in laws for dinner and this year was no exception!

The weather held out and I can't complain, at all! My mother in law cooked up a delicious meal and her sweet potatoes this year were the most amazing sweet potatoes I've ever tasted, with pecans in them - I love pecans!!!

We all ate and chatted and then ate some more - home made cheesecakes were on offer for dessert, alongside pumpkin pie, and everything was, again, delicious!

My daughter learned what spray cream was for the very first time, but for some reason she is calling it "ice cream salt" and I think that's hilarious - especially as she never uses actual salt either and so none of it makes any sense!!

My youngest had his first Thanksgiving but he is still quite boring at this age and was happy to cat nap through it!

My hair did look a little crazy today as I had to rush it to get out the door in time, but I like it!!

Heres to the next big day, Christmas! Not long to go now!!

Ice Cream Cellars and Birthday Cake Vineyard Wines; Review!

If you are looking for something special to take along to a meal this holiday season, or as a gift in general, then this is something I think you will LOVE! - Wines that taste just like Ice Cream or Birthday Cake!!

It is true! Straight from Birthday Cake Vineyards and Ice Cream Cellars, come these fabulous gems in flavors, which include [but are not limited to] Cheesecake, Black Forrest Cake, Espresso and French Vanilla!

These aren't your gimmicky, overly sweet or hard to take wines, either! They are quality wines that have been painstakingly brought into fruition over a couple of years by the makers in order to bring you the fine wine you love alongside the tastes that capture your senses!

To enjoy, each should be chilled, including the red, and [in my opinion] poured into a nice big glass to savor on its own or as an accompaniment to a meal!

I absolutely LOVE the aromas that come out of these wines and the smell hits you before you even take a sip - just delightful on the senses and doesn't remind you of your average glass of wine, at all!

These aren't your sickly-sweet dessert wines, they can be consumed any time of day [or night] at a relaxed pace without having to be partnered with anything other than a friend's company or a good book!

I adore every single one of these flavors, and they are all magnificent! The reds are bold but tasteful and not at all sharp on the tongue! They leave a light flavor and hit all the right buttons as you drink in the aromas of Espresso or Black Forrest Cake!

The white wines were both crisp and delicious, easy on the palette and conjure up all sorts of images of a scoops of french vanilla ice cream or a slice of cheesecake with ease and really made me feel as though I was getting a little bit of dessert, in a glass, with every sip!

These are some fabulous wines you would be sure to miss out on if you didn't at least give them a try once in your life! I know you might be put off if you think they're going to be overly sweet but they're well balanced and easy to take all around - reds and whites!

I think my favorite has to be the Espresso, which surprised me because I was sure that the favorite was going to be the Cheesecake, but the depth and flavor to the espresso was like a smooth, velvety rush with a hint of a chocolate! It was just rich and powerful, deep and dark, full and flavorful!

I would certainly purchase these wines again as they have taken me pleasantly by surprise and may well be up there with my absolute favorites! In fact I think you'll love these so much that I could see them at your Thanksgiving or Christmas table this holiday season and, for that reason, they make their way into my Holiday Gift Guide!

If you would like to find out more about these wines, flavors offered and places to buy, just head on over to the respective websites HERE and HERE! You can also follow Birthday Cake Wines on Twitter and Facebook alongside Ice Cream Cellars on Twitter and Facebook, too!!

If you are anything like me, you won't be disappointed in these heavenly, tasty, afters!

The Onion Crunch Challenge!

O.K. Hands up! Who doesn't like crunchy onions!?

We certainly LOVE them in our house and so when Onion Crunch asked us to take part in the Onion Crunch Challenge we just couldn't say no!

We taste tested 3 different kinds of crunchy onions today and, while I love them all, one did turn out to be a little bit of a winner over the rest!

We tried Onion Crunch, French's French  Fried Onions and Fresh Gourmet Crispy Onions and I tasted them along with my son!

We had a sheet to fill out based on tastiness, crunch and ingredients and they all had something to offer, for sure but the Onion Crunch has a slight advantage that the ingredients are simple and sound!

We do love them all, all three were indeed good, but the basic goodness of Onion Crunch did do it for all of us!

My son, however, did prefer the taste of French's over Onion Crunch - his are the green dots in the boxes on the test sheet and mine are the red! We didn't know which onions were which while tasting, we had a friend help us out so that we tested them fairly and once we did the test, the results were marked down!

The Onion Crunch clearly won 5/1 on our score sheet and you can see why! - They taste great, they have a ton of crunch and the fact that there is so little to them ingredients wise means the world! - Crispy, Crunchy, Yum, Yum, Yum!

Crunch up your Thanksgiving...

We moved on in the afternoon to make a dish with the Onion Crunch, which was based on something we all have at our place for Thanksgiving - Mac and Cheese!

You might not all have Mac and Cheese, but we certainly do because our children are picky eaters and so I thought it would be great to put a twist on it with the Onion Crunch!
I baked up a little pasta until it was halfway cooked, added white sauce, which consisted of a half block of 2 different cheeses that were grated and a little cream and seasoning, put the two together and covered in grated cheese and onion crunch on top for that added "umphff".

When baked, the kids tucked right in and it was a big hit! I really think that if you love crunchy onions you're going to love to put them on just about anything OR even crunch on them a little on their own!!

I would love to hear from you if you have tasted any of any of these products and what you made of them!? How did you like Onion Crunch fair with the others and would you be willing to take the Onion Crunch Challenge!?

We would all love to see what you think!

Newman's Own Organics Review and Giveaway! Ends 12/3/13

If you have been with me a while, you might remember the DE-LI-CIOUS goodies I brought to you from Newman's Own Organics!? they are again, and I am SO thrilled to be able to share!!

With their vast array of organic sweet treats, salty snacks [and general scrumptiousness] including licorice, tea and coffee, it is always hard to know where to start, but here are some of the things that Newman's Own Organics carries, which didn't make it into my last review, along with some that did!

First up, we have Newman's Own Organic's Olive Oil!! I am a HUGE lover of olive oil and I would use it on everything if given the chance and have had this out on my work top since it arrived and has been a staple in my kitchen for drizzling on salads and breads, with a little going a long way and a smooth taste you just can't fault!

Then there are the teas! I didn't even know that Newman's Own Organics had tea, but it makes perfect sense and it tastes good, too! Being of English decent, I am known to have a cup of tea in my hand 80% of the time and the kettle on the boil to make one the other 20%, unless I am sleeping!

Tea is one of those go-to drinks for me, which I do prefer hot, milky and with a little sugar, and many a problem has been solved in my house over a decent cup of tea - and so, when I say that Newman's Own Organics Royal Tea knocks my socks off, I mean it! Such a refreshing cup, tastes smooth and is not too overpowering!

The  black tea is perfectly balanced and steeps well, with none of this dunking and squeezing the bag for a day trying to get out the flavor! The green tea is just as good and the flavor is not as bitter as I have seen in other green teas recently! I just can't get enough - I actually have a cup of the green tea in front of me as I type and I am sure there will be plenty more after!

This time around I got to try several of the dried fruits - cranberries and apples to be exact - and those didn't let me down either. Lots of flavor and a decent size package meant that there were enough to go around and to little fingers who like to dip in and grab a few before running off to play! Yep, my 2 year old LOVED the dried fruits and the cranberries were especially a big hit - not too tart or too chewy, just about right in taste and I could only have wished there were more! The apples were a little chewier than the cranberries but the result was the same - good taste, well brought together, fabulous for a quick snack to dip into!

And then we have the chocolate, oooh! Who doesn't love chocolate of some kind?! I personally prefer the darker chocolates, while my son prefers the light and we had a little bit of a taste test to see how Newman's Own Organics' Mocha Milk Chocolate, Super Dark Chocolate and Orange Dark Chocolate compared to one another - there were also some Rasperry Centers, but I didn't share - bad mother, I know, but some times you just have to give yourself a treat!

As it turns out, the Super Dark Chocolate was a HUGE hit with everyone in our household, not that the other chocolate wasn't just as good, but the Super Dark was the one everybody kept asking for and was also the first to disappear! I love the smoothness of the chocolate, all of it across the board, and the slight kick that dark chocolate has always keeps me on my toes! I dipped a piece in my cup of coffee to see what it would taste like and the melted chocolate was SO GOOD that I could have gone back for more over and over until the world came to an end, it just didn't get boring or old!

Aside from these goodies, I also had some of the Newman's Own Organics favourites to savor in the way of: Licorice Sours, which are tart on the tongue, sharp on the mouth and tasty! Available in several flavors, I got to try out the Strawberry and the Apple Sour Licorice and I have to purse my lips just thinking about them as they just make my mouth water with anticipation, they're so fine!

I also loved the Newman-O's, which are like another similar, famous, cookie that might be available out there somewhere, but in mint! PLUS some Hermits and tasty cookies!!

There is just so much to be found at Newman's Own Organics, including all of the above AND pretzels, coffee and more! What is not to love!

BUT WAIT!! Of course there is MORE!!

The folk at Newman's Own Organics are giving a reader the chance to win a selection of their goodies including the following:

  • Newman O's
  • Sour Licorice
  • Chocolate
  • Tea

There will be ONE winner and they may request the flavors of the winning items listed above but may be subject to change where not available without notice.

Must be 18 or over and reside in the U.S to be able to win. Must reply to email to confirm prize within 48 hours and will forfeit the prize if not claimed within that time!

Are we really in November already?

Has anybody thought about the weather we're having this year!? It seems incredibly mild for November, or is it just me!?!

I was expecting something a little frostier than this, but I can't complain because I guess we could be sitting under 6 feet of snow and we aren't, so...

Create a wine profile tailored just to you, with Tasting Room, by Lot18

If you are looking for something different to give this holiday season, then I may have just the thing for you - something fun, tasty and a good value at the Tasting Room by Lot18!

Lot18 has been a fabulous source for wine over the years and what better way to compliment their efforts than with a wine club tailor made to suit your needs, and to help you discover wines from all across the world - some of which you might never have heard!

Have you ever picked up a bottle of wine and thought that you'd found a gem only to get home, pour yourself a glass and then scrunch up your face at the first sip because it tasted like vinegar or sharp apples on your tongue!? I know I have, and I know that I would probably do it again because I am not very well educated on the wines that suit my palette, but this is where the genius of the Tasting Room comes in!

With the worlds FIRST, personalized wine experience, Tasting Room has thought of it all! For just a small cost of under $10, They will ship you our a wine tasting kit, comprising of 2 white wines and 4 red wines, 2 cards and instructions on how to taste your wine - this will all arrive in ridiculously stylish box and kick-start your experience with Tasting Room in a manner fit for a queen!

Once your tasting kit arrives [and you're ready to taste], you will  log in to your account and get ready to tingle those taste buds, whenever you have the chance!

First of all, you will compare the 2 white wines, as instructed by the Tasting Room's instructional video, and rate the one you think you like better out of the two. I had a draw to the one over the other and so let them know and moved on to the 4 tasters of red!

With the 4 bottles of red you will taste similarly as with the white, but you will compare the first two AND compare them and the others to one another in succession. I had a noticeable distaste for one of the wines in particular but certainly enjoyed the last 3 and it really got me thinking about why I settle for the first bottle I pick out instead of really stepping out of my comfort zone for something I might actually enjoy!

By the end of the taste test, which I performed in double-blind wine glasses, but which you can perform with whatever you have to hand, I hit submit to find out my style and to see where the Tasting Room figured I should find the best wines for me!

Surprisingly, my [2 part] profile determined me to be a "Naturalist", where red wines were concerned and "Devil-May-Care" for my white! I am told that I would enjoy Pinot Grigio, Reisling and Sauvignon Blanc to start, and I am  happy to say this is very spot-on!

With red wine not being my forte, and trusting the round up of starter whites, I feel I can also trust their word on the reds that I might take a liking to, too! My preferred grapes are said to be:

  1. Cabernet Franc
  2. Nebbiolo
  3. Sangiovese
  4. Tempranillo
...none of which I have heard of in the past, but which I intend to chase down in the future! There is nothing better than a GOOD glass of red wine and I would rather seek out recommendations that go it alone for that glass of vinegar I spoke to you about earlier!

The fabulousness of this wine-tasting and charting a profile is a great way to get you engaged in the process of wine, but also helps to create a shipment of wine to your door every month that will work with your taste buds instead of against them!

For less than the average cost of retail, you can get shipments of wine sent to your door in a 6 or 12 bottle shipment and you can cancel your membership any time you want - no commitment, just great wine!

I am very please with the overall simplicity and ease, with which I have been able to follow through the process of creating my own wine profile and catering a shipment to fit that profile. The cost is minimal and the products are fine, quality wines that you can learn to love [and share] with your guests or with a glass on your own!

If you would like to find out more about Tasting Room, by Lot18, then head on over HERE for current prices and offers! You can also follow them on Twitter HERE and Facebook HERE for the latest, up-to-date information!

This would make a wonderful gift for someone this holiday season, or any time of the year and that is why we are happy to include a recommendation for Tasting Room in our Holiday Gift Guide for 2013!

Kiss Me Organics: Organic Matcha, Review!

I am not one to say no to trying something new and so, when I was given the chance this week to try out some Organic Matcha, from Kiss Me Organics, how could I say no!?

Not 100% sure what Organic Matcha actually was, or what I was supposed to do with it once I got it, I did a little digging around and discovered that Organic Matcha is actually Green Tea Powder, which can come in different grades and be used for various applications - in this case, we have "culinary grade", which can be used in cooking, lattes and smoothies [among other things] and just a little at a time!

Organic Matcha can provide a boost of energy, steadily, over a long period of time up to about 6 hours and is also thought to be able to aid in the boosting of metabolism and improvement of skin health at up to 137 times the antioxidant content of regular brewed green tea and can improve your ability to focus!

Taken in small amounts, a few times a day, you may be able to see some benefit over a period of time and there is really is no end in the applications for this culinary delight! I personally added it to oatmeal, grits, a latte and some cup cakes so far and, while it turned everything a little green, it didn't taste too bitter and I gave it a go!

With the grits and the oatmeal I just put in a pinch to give it a boost after it was cooked, but with the cup-cakes I put the Organic Matcha in with the main ingredients and baked them up as usual! The cupcakes were a shade of green that was actually not that noticeable if you didn't know what to look for but I would imagine that if you were to bake up a batch of cupcakes with a white batter and add the Organic Matcha to that, then it would make for some vibrant and delightful cupcakes for just about any occasion!

There was a slight aftertaste when trying out foods with the Organic Matcha included, but it wasn't potent enough to put me off of using it at all! I wouldn't imagine that this is the kind of "Green Tea" that you could actually drink as a tea in its own right and this is why this is graded as culinary and not hosted at a premium level, BUT there ARE other tiers of Organic Matcha Green Teas though, which you CAN use for drinking if you are a stickler for a hot [or cold] green tea without the latte!

I have learned a lot about Organic Matcha this past week and am surprised at its cost but delighted by the possible benefits! One small bag can set you back a pretty penny but you really do only need to use such a small amount (maybe half a teaspoon to a teaspoonful) at a time that it last ten times longer than you might expect just by looking at the package!

At $25 a bag right now over at Amazon (down from $39.99), Organic Matcha is NOT cheap, but if it does everything that it claims to do then it is worth every penny!

I have been using the Organic Matcha now for a week or so and I have not felt any ill affects from it but I have convinced myself that I feel great every time I take a bite of something with a little Organic Matcha in it! I don't know if the boost is the actual powder or the power of mind but I definitely see it being a plus either way!

I am definitely happy with the Organic Green Matcha from Kiss Me Organics and will continue to try it out and see how I feel by the end of the bag!

If you would like to find out more about Kiss Me Organics and their Organic Matcha then head on over HERE to take a look!

I would absolutely love to hear from you if you have tried Organic Matcha for yourself and how it works for you - I would even like to indulge in a few recipes, so let me know!

Hey Mouse! Vacate MY House! Victor Pest: Mouse Trap, Review!

A few weeks ago I spotted a mouse in my kitchen! Fabulous! Just what I always wanted, and no where near that at all at the same time!

Don't get me wrong, I am not bothered by mice, but they sure do become a problem when they're living in your space, eating holes here and there and partying it up having a jolly old time!

SO! I spoke to my friendly local pest control guy who handed me over a few of the sticky mouse traps, which are cruel and inhumane and get the poor little mice stuck, unable to move and leave them starving to death if they don't gnaw off their own feet trying to escape!

I threw away the sticky traps and got in touch with Victor Pest, who sent out some live traps to help deal with our "problem" and to put those little mice out of the house! A couple of days later the traps were at my door and ready to get to work inside the house!

I have 3 different sets/kinds of traps, one of which can house up to 30 mice! I really hope I don't need to catch that many mice but, I am reassured knowing that I can, if I do! This big trap is called the Tin Cat, which retails for just $17.50  and can be used anywhere in the house, along with the other traps which will catch the odd mouse here and there with a quick flip-shut lid and one which catches a few mice at a time!

Below you can see how easy it is to set up traps like the Tin Cat, with links to other instructional videos via Victor Pest's YouTube channel: HERE!

So many options are available over at the website and I never quite knew how diverse the choice could get with a mouse trap and so I for one am glad to have several in our home right now ready to get to work and catch those clever little toads before they cause mayhem more than we need!

I waited a while before anything happened with the traps - I put them down 2 weeks ago now - but I finally DID catch a mouse just the day before yesterday and a second one that same afternoon! I don't know if there was just something in the air that particular day that the mice were our in pairs, but apparently they had decided that the bait in the traps was tempting enough to give themselves a tasty treat and BAM! There they were for all to see!

I was really surprised to catch 2 mice, but happy that they were caught humanely and then whisked off outside! I am left wondering how many there still might be if there were 2 already in the house - hopefully not THAT many that we'll have to move out and surrender our lease agreement to them!

For now, though, I have the mouse traps down around the house as they are re-usable, which already makes them superior to the glue pads AND they don't snap at the mouse, or glue them irreversibly to a mat, which keeps them humane!

I am glad to report that since catching those 2 mice this week I haven't yet seen any more around but, of course, it doesn't mean that they are not there!

Thanks to Victor Pest I won't have to worry too much in the short term, though as any intruders are likely to eventually meet their match with a trap currently floating around my home!

I would absolutely recommend giving the humane traps a shot before you head towards the glue, and you really do get your money's worth as the traps are usable time and again! The results speak for themselves, as you can see with my very blurry little mouse friend [pictured to the right], who was so fast I am happy I got to snap a photo of him at all before we escorted him away!

For details on the MANY different kinds of traps you can find to snag those little critters, and to see how Victor Pest can help you with other pests [such as rat, mole and insect control] just head on over HERE and find the solution that works for you!!

You may also want to follow Victor Pest on Twitter HERE and Facebook HERE to stay in the know, and up to date on all the latest and greatest in pest control and to be on the way to getting the job done, today!!

United Artists Salon and Spa, West Reading, PA.: My New Do, Review!

This morning I woke up with this fabulous, flowing head of hair that has been slowly growing out for over a year and a half [or so] since I last posted about getting a haircut [18 inches] and donating it to locks of love!

I know, I know! I should get a haircut a little more often than every one and a half years, but this last cycle of putting it off was prolonged by an uncomfortable pregnancy and the lack of will to hobble down and get the job done!

Not only has it been THAT long since I've had a haircut, but it has also been a VERY long time since I've been able to find salon that I could actually think about returning to without a second thought - and with a haircut I actually loved for more than the 10 minutes after leaving the chair...

Well, I am happy to say that [following a long, hot and sticky summer, a new baby and no time what-so-ever to style my ridiculous yeti-like hair] it looks as though my wishes for a decent salon have finally been fulfilled by United Artists Salon and Spa on Penn Avenue in West Reading, PA., which is a just hop, skip and a jump away from where I am currently based!

The wonderful folk at the salon [and spa] gave me the opportunity to go over and experience a taste of what they have to offer, by way of a hair cut at the hands of the lovely Kristin, who was already waiting for my imminent arrival as soon as I walked through the door!

Greeted with a smile [and a new client form] at the reception desk, it took just seconds to sign in and even less time to feel completely assured that I had come to the right place!

I filled out the form and was handed a gift bag for it being my first visit, which I thought was a lovely touch to say the least! What a better way to introduce themselves than with coupons, samples, useful information AND goodies, which included a pen, emery board, clip,  fridge magnet [so I wouldn't misplace their number] and a reward card for future visits and savings! Fabulous!

Kristin greeted me with a smile and took my coat, sat me down to talk about the direction of my haircut and where I would like it to go. She put together the bulk of my hair and cut off about 12 inches [to be donated to locks of love] before anything else and then ushered me over to wash out my hair!

The lady who washed out my hair was very polite and chatty and didn't let me down. She made sure everything was perfect and didn't pull me around or try to drown me [unlike other places I have experienced in the past] and she really kept things upbeat and at ease.

Catching back up with Kristin [and with a cup of Joe], I was ready to let her do her thing and get down to business! My cut went ahead without a single hitch and the more that was snipped, the better I felt as the weight was literally lifted from my shoulders!

Another couple of inches came off before the cut was complete, but the end result was worth the effort as my head stopped feeling so pulled down [by the first cut] and quite stylish [by the last!]

My super-cute new "do" was all ready to go and straightened out for maximum effect! The length was just what I needed and exactly what I had asked for and was the first hair cut I have had in a long time that really made me smile!

I absolutely adore the new cut and I am so glad I went in! There are so many times when I have had an excuse not to go through with a cut and so, with the end result being this delightful, i am just sorry I hadn't gone before!!

United Artists Salon and Spa is by far the best place I have been for a haircut in years and I can't wait to visit again in the future to try out some of their other offerings such as a manicure, pedicure or perhaps even a massage - I certainly need to get on top of my crazy Einstein eyebrows and so now I have the perfect place to go!

Calgon: Velvet Body Cream Review!

Over the years you might have heard of Calgon - you know, "Take Me Away..." - well, personally I can't get enough of them and they really do have some wonderful products on the market right now that not only make a little treat for you at home, but fabulous gifts for the coming season!

I don't like to keep a good product to myself when it comes along and so I wanted to share with you Calgon's trio of body creams that I received this week to review, which come in:

*Angelic Kiss
*Royal Rendezvous
*Enchanted Embrace

Designed to be used after bathing, these creams are delightfully soft and moisturizing with a mild fragrance to each, which isn't overpowering at all!

With the combination Vitamin E. Aloe and Shea Butter, these velvet body creams will leave your skin feeling refreshed without feeling too greasy or sticky to the touch!

I have been using the Enchanted Embrace cream after my shower and I really do like the way it feels - I'm not a big fan of those creams than leave a greasy film on your skin or take forever to rub in, at all! These are, in my opinion, just right!

Right now, each cream sold separately retails for $4.99. So try one or try them all! They make wonderful presents for Christmas giving, too and so Calgon makes an appearance on our Holiday Gift Guide, for the second year running and with delicate ease!

To learn more about Calgon and all the goodies they have to keep you relaxed and comforted this season, just head on over HERE to their website or check them out on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with their latest news!

They have so much to offer besides velvet body lotion, so why not explore??

Therafit Shoes! Deborah Women's Sneakers: Review + Giveaway - Ends 11/28/13

A while back I brought you a review on a pair of Therafit sandals, which I absolutely loved that helped me coast through summer and my uncomfortably fat-footed pregnancy!

Now that I am a few weeks postpartum, my feet have once again returned to their normal size and I am able to wear a full pair of shoes again AND attempt to get back into shape, which is where Therafit makes their return to our blog!

\The wonderful people at Therafit sent me over [fabulously gift wrapped] a pair of their Deborah Women's Sneakers, which are lightweight and breathable trainers made from synthetic materials that are soft, comfortable and bold in their array of brilliant colors!

Therafit shoes are the brain child of Dr. Lisa Masterson who you may recognize from the well-known T.V show The Doctors. Dr. Lisa aimed to make footwear that was long-lasting and comfortable on women's feet for the duration of the day, while keeping some individual style and flare either at work, play or just around the house chasing little ones all day!

Not only only does your Therafit shoe look [and feel] good as they come, but you can also change the level of comfort to further compliment your own personal need by adjusting what is known as the Therafit Personal Comfort System located in the rear wedge of the shoe!

The Therafit Personal Comfort System is a unique system of 3 dual-density adapters, which can be pushed out from the shoe to change the level of impact resistance on your feet! To learn how this works and to see it in action, take a look at the video below:

I chose a pair of these sneakers in red, which makes a statement and looks fabulous on my feet and matches more of my outfits than any other pair - I'm a sucker for reds and so this was definitely the shoe for me!

Of course, after trying out the sandals before, I knew what to expect from the shoes and they didn't disappoint! I walk a lot through the day and rarely drive and so my feet do take quite a beating! I find these sneakers gives me a bounce to my walk though like never before and I really do feel as though I could walk miles in them, even if I'm only going to town!

Retailing at $95 a pair, Therafit's Deborah Women's Sneakers might seem a little on the pricey side but they are definitely worth the investment in my opinion. I think they are one of the most unique brands on the market right now and they do live up to their reputation as far as my own feet are concerned!

To find out more about these sneakers and to see what other goodies Therafit has to offer, just head on over to their website, HERE! Also find them on Twitter and Facebook to get interactive and to stay up to date with their latest news!

I love these sneakers so much that I actually threw my old shoes away and look forward to a lengthy period of comfort in my Therafit shoes!

Have you tried Therafit? What do you think? I would LOVE to hear from you!

But WAIT! Before you disappear! Therafit is giving you the chance to win a pair of Deborah Women's Sneakers ($95 value!!), just in time for all that running around you might be doing over the festive season!!

To be in with a chance of winning just reside in the U.S, be over 19 and enter via the rafflecopter, below!

Save Money on Text Books with Campus Book Rentals!

I wanted to talk to you a little about Campus Book Rentals this evening as I know many of you love to save a few pennies in as many ways as you can, and I absolutely love the service Campus Book Rentals offers and wanted to make sure that you knew about them, too!

If you are currently at college, enrolling soon, or even if you are taking courses online, then this is a great service that you might want to take a look at and to take on board!

College courses are painfully expensive, before we ever set foot in a classroom, and the costs do not stop there [at the door] when we do! The costs keep on coming as reading lists for necessary book titles come rolling in every semester demanding big bucks from your wallet for something you're not going to get through the subject without! We all know that these books aren't going to be used for ever, and perhaps little study at all will be needed from most of them and so why pay so much for course material that you're only going to use for a very short time?

Well, Campus Book Rentals have asked themselves that very same question and the answer is that you should not be paying more money, at all! Based on this conclusion, Campus Book Rentals have devised a simple, yet clever solution for all of your text book needs and, better still, they want to bring this solution right to your door!

Designed in such a way as to make the acquisition of text books easy and affordable, with anything from a 40-90% savings on the average cost of any materials you might need, Campus Book Rentals offers up one of the largest selections of books in the nation AND Shipping is FREE - BOTH WAYS!

On top of the discounted prices, each book you rent can be held for a prolonged period of [set] time and you are given a rather generous 15 day grace period in which to return the book if something comes up that hinders the return of the text in a timely fashion! Just hold on to the book for the duration of your semester (or however long you need - prices vary) then pack it up and send it right back! No fuss, no mess and no books gathering dust on your mantle for years to come!

The benefits do NOT stop there, either! You can ALSO:
* Gain access to live customer support
* Have the ability to highlight within each text book
* Purchase your books, should you decide that you would like to keep them!

By clicking HERE, you can shimmy on over to Campus Book Rental's website and compare prices of rentals to purchased books! The differences can be phenomenal and really save you that costly dent in your wallet every time you have to pick up something new for your studies! Fabulous!

But, it should be known that the good doesn't stop with a saving in your pocket! I also wanted to bring to your attention the fact that Campus Book Rentals also makes donations to Operation Smile every time you rent a textbook!

Operation Smile is a wonderful cause that puts smiles back on the faces of children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and/or palette and so, by renting with Campus Book Rentals, you are also passing along the savings in the form of a child's happiness and a wonderful smile! What could be better than that! You can find out more about Operation Smile, HERE!

For a closer look at Campus Book Rentals, take a gander at the video below, or head on over to their website to find out more! I know that once you get started with their system, you will never want to go anywhere else...

BUT WAIT! The savings don't stop there, and in fact just keep on getting better! If you love the idea of Campus Book Rentals then you are going to be thrilled by, too! allows you to rent out YOUR books to other students in the same way that you would rent books out from Campus Book Rentals!

Instead of selling your old text books at the end of your studies, you can put them up for rent and keep them in circulation while you earn a few pennies as other students rent them out from you. You may even get up to 2 or 4 times more money in your pocket [renting] than from selling your text books alone.

To find out more about Rent, take a look HERE and start those savings, today!

What are you waiting for!?

Happy renting, happy lending and a happy wallet to boot!

Yves Rocher Botanicals Hair Care Review!

It is that time of the month where I bring you some new Yves Rocher products and this time around I have for you some items from their Botanicals Hair Care line, which is designed to bring you quality hair care without the unnecessary extras like silicone, parabens or colorant!

Yves Rocher knows that there are a plethora of different hair types and so they have designed sets to smooth, add volume, repair and nourish the hair, as well as formulas for gentle application and much more!

Each of these new products is 100% of botanical origin and packed with natural elements from Okra Seed Extract [for its nutritional value] to Witch Hazel [for its calming properties] and each of them can be found at Yves Rocher's website, which you will be able to find if you head over HERE!

This line truly does have something for everyone and the categories include the following:
  1. Volume
  2. Gentle
  3. Repair
  4. Smoothing
  5. Nutrition
  6. Vitality & Radiance

I personally have the craziest hair on earth some days, I think we all do, but I always find it frizzy and "fat" in need of taming and smoothing out, which is why I navigated more towards the Smoothing set, with Okra Seed Extract,  from the very get-go!

I put aside the shampoo and conditioner I was using and replaced it with Yves Rocher's smoothing shampoo and conditioner and have been using it for the past week and so far I am happy with the results!

I generally wash and condition my hair every other day and it is either left to dry naturally or I pull out the hair drier and straightener and spend an eternity styling it but, either way, my hair is altimately left smooth and soft by the Botanicals products!

The cost [at the time of writing this review] for the shampoo sits at $5.00 per 300ml bottle and the same for the conditioner, too! A very good price for some great products that will leave you feeling fresh, clean and guilt-free!

With each extract being specifically chosen for each hair type, Yves Rocher's Botanical's are able to reach a higher level of effectiveness while remaining gentle on the hair and scalp. They are also gentle on the environment, too, with each formula being easily biodegradable - the bottle is even recyclable, too!

You really couldn't ask for much more in a hair care product! My photo shows my hair after just a few washes and a quick blow-dry. If it can look this good for me, it can work for you, too!

If you are interested in finding out more about each of the products in the Botanicals hair care line, just head on over to the Yves Rocher website and take a look for yourself! You will find all manner of goodies from shampoos and conditioners to masks and even rinsing vinegar, which you are simply going to adore!

I would LOVE to hear from you, as always, if you have tried any of these products, or even if you're excited to try them in the near future! Let me know what you think, and let Yves Rocher know, too!
