La Résolution - Unibroue - Review! #MGBHGG

Disclaimer: I was provided a sample for my honest, unbiased review. I was not otherwise in any way compensated for this post. My opinions are my own an your views may differ.

My mother used to own a pub, which I lived in for a while and thus got to try out some weird and wonderful beers, ales, bitters and everything in between. Over everything else, my favorite kind of ale has always been a nice, deep and dark ale without too much fluff and fancy and without the bitter kick at the end or a crazy aftertaste.

What I found in La Résolution (Unibroue), was a strong, dark ale out of a corked bottle, which for me makes the ale feel cleaner and fresher and was nothing short of a perfect match to my pallet.

With a nutty, toffee-caramel taste and a smooth, yet spicy finish I felt like La Résolution (Unibroue) tasted best a little cold and in a tall glass, and actually paired really well duck!

With a 10% ABV, you can't go far wrong with this one - in fact, I really think that this one is going to be one of my constant new favorites, I can't find a single thing negative to say about it, at all.

The color is great, the taste is better than I could even anticipate and there is no unruly aftertaste that I have found in some similar ales. It works all around for me and I would buy it in a heartbeat for any occasion!

As a bonus, I also have a cook-book from Unibroue, with some delicious recipes in it, which I am going to have to share with you, too - you won't want to miss it!
